The 2017 Member Engagement Tour was in Victoria BC on October 18, 2017 and drew the largest attendance to date with over 165 members, CPA students and candidates.

The MET luncheon was held at Harbour Towers – which will be the final time it will be held at this hotel because it will be closing and undergoing re-development.

Mike Macdonell CPA CA, vice-chair of the CPABC Victoria Southern Vancouver Island Chapter, emceed the event.  He spoke about the activities of the Chapter and invited members and students to attend upcoming chapter events.

Attendees were then provided an update about the profession from CPABC board chair Heather Banham FCPA FCGA, vice-chair Barry Macdonald FCPA FCA, CEO Lori Mathison FCPA FCGA and executive vice-president Jan Sampson FCPA FCA.  Lindalee Brougham FCPA FCA FCGA, board chapter liaison was also in attendance.

The formal presentation covered a wide range of topics and provided an opportunity for members to engage with CPABC’s leadership on key issues affecting them.  Members also appreciated the opportunity to ask many questions.

Thank you to all the chapter volunteers for arranging a very successful event.

The MET then headed to the CPABC Upper Vancouver Island Chapter with stops in Duncan (October 18), Nanaimo and Campbell River (October 19). You can follow the MET on twitter using #cpabcMET.
