Recap: YPF hosts info session about the CIA

The CPABC Young Professionals Forum held an information session on March 28, 2019 at CPABC’s office for members to learn more about the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) program offered by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

A dozen young professionals came out to listen to a presentation by IIA Vancouver members Joann Khor CPA CA CISA CRMA and Kelvin Goh CPA CGA CIA CRMA CISA CFE.

Joann Khor shared her CIA journey which included international experience in internal audit, IT audit, internal controls and enterprise risk management.  She volunteers as a director of advocacy with the local IIA Vancouver Chapter.  Similarly, Kelvin Goh, who is head of SOX Compliance at his organization, shared his experience as a CIA spanning over 15 years in compliance and internal audit at local and international firms.   He too volunteers as vice-president of the local IIA Vancouver Chapter.

Pat Howard CPA CA CIA, president of the IIA Vancouver Chapter, also attended the event and invited members interested in the IIA to attend future events.
