Recap: CPABC and ISACA Networking Event

Emily Chee CPA CMA CISA and Kevin Teo CISSP CISA welcome guests to networking event.

CPABC Vancouver Chapter and the CPABC Young Professionals Forum, in partnership with ISACA Vancouver, co-hosted a networking event on March 6, 2018 at Steamworks Brewery Company in the Gastown district of Vancouver.

This event brought together 40 CPAs in accounting and finance with an equal number of IT professionals in the security, governance and consulting fields for an evening of social networking.

Opening remarks were provided by CPABC Vancouver Chapter Communications Chair and Community Outreach Director, Emily Chee CPA CMA CISA, and Kevin Teo CISSP CISA, President of ISACA Vancouver.

Emily and Kevin thanked members for attending and also highlighted the value of accounting and IT professionals working together.

David Chiang CPA CA, CPABC’s Vice-President Member Advice & Programs, and Theresa Ansari CISA, assisted with the prize draw.  Provincial board member Stanley Chang CPA CGA was also in attendance.

Overall, the evening was successful in connecting business professionals. Future collaboration between the CPABC Vancouver Chapter, ISACA Vancouver and other professional associations are being considered.
