Hope you are all enjoying the summer! How is it August already? The BBQ’s, ball-games, icy beverages, and endless sunshine have resulted in a lovely break for all of us here at the Vancouver Chapter.
We did, however, try to keep tabs on what is going on in this exciting city of ours so that we could share with you:
- Bard on the Beach – on until September 23rd for all of you Shakespeare devotees. Be escorted from the Renaissance period to modern day Venice and back to Vancouver via the four plays that are being presented at Vanier Park on Vancouver’s waterfront.
- The Fair at the PNE – on until September 4th. This is an annual not-to-be-missed ritual to close out the summer. Whether you want to scream your lungs out on thrilling rides, check out a craft beer selection, or place your bets on the infamous Superdogs, this is the place to be in August.
- Concerts – Vancouver seems to be a popular stop for all types of musical acts. Who is coming to town? August 21st – OneRepublic; August 24th – Descedents; September 1st – Guns N’ Roses – name your tune and enjoy.
- Diner en Blanc – the 6th annual outdoor dinner-in-white is being held in two secret locations this year in Vancouver. The main draw – you will never see so many Vancouverites in one place wearing white from head to toe. Bon appetite!
This is just a sliver of what’s going on in the City; the dog days of summer….make them count!
