Chapter Supports Langara College Student

Langara College student Adrian Tong with Vancouver Chapter representative Christine Woodington CPA CGA

Langara College hosted their annual Celebration of Excellence on April 5, 2018 in the T-Building 2nd floor gallery at the Vancouver campus.

The event recognized the success and academic excellence of award recipients, many of whom were in attendance, and provided an opportunity for students to share their amazing stories about how the financial support provided by donors like the CPABC Vancouver Chapter and the CPA Education Foundation (CPAEF) have helped them.

The CPABC Vancouver Chapter has funded a $1,000 award through to 2019/20 to support an accounting student at Langara College.

In addition, graduating students who are entering the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) Professional Education Program (PEP) can apply for one of seven $1,000 graduating awards offered directly by the CPAEF.  Applications can be found on the CPAEF website under Helping Students and must be submitted by May 1 for consideration.

Chapter volunteer Christine Woodington CPA CGA, an alumnus of Langara College, attended this event and is shown in the above photo with Adrian Tong, this year’s recipient of the CPABC Vancouver Chapter Award.  Adrian will be taking his first CPA course in May 2018 and has accepted a position at Crowe Mackay LLP and starts in September.
