What could accounting look like in 5-10 years?

Blockchain is fundamentally an accounting technology that is being harnessed to profoundly disrupt a wide range of businesses and industries. Many organizations are already implementing blockchain solutions to bring efficiencies or to issue new digital assets such as cryptocurrencies, though we are only beginning to scratch the surface of its true potential. By understanding the principles of blockchain technology, CPAs will be well positioned to facilitate and capitalize on its emergence.

This workshop provides a clear explanation of the foundations, applications and opportunities of blockchain and similar technologies from a business (non-technical) perspective. Participants will then have opportunities to build on this by sharing their experiences and discussing how blockchain could bring value to their work, and to the accounting profession more generally.
