BC Aware Campaign 2018 – Cyber Security for CFOs

Cyber Security Executive Roundup – January 29 2018

The BC AWARE CAMPAIGN, which is organized by ISACA Vancouver in partnership with CPABC, CIO Canada, and other interested organizations, aims to raise security and privacy awareness among professionals in business and government as well as faculty from advanced education.

For the third year in a row, CPABC is a community partner for the Cyber Security Executive Roundup networking reception which will be held in Vancouver on January 29, 2018.

If you are a CPABC member in a senior financial or accounting role and would like to engage with CFOs, CIOs and other senior IT professionals, you are invited to attend a complimentary panel presentation which includes several IT specialists and professional hacker Kevin Mitnick.

Mitnick is a computer security consultant, author and hacker. He gained worldwide notoriety in the 1990s after taking down a number of corporate networks, for being a fugitive for 2 ½ years before being caught, and for subsequently serving 5 years in prison. While initially controversial, he now runs a security firm which helps companies’ and government agencies strengthen their IT security.

This event should be a fascinating night for CIOs, CFOs, and CISOs to get together and discuss cyber security. Space is limited to 75 CPA members.  You must be a designated member to attend.   Click here to register as space is limited.

CPABC members are also invited to attend other paid events such during the course of the 12-day campaign, such as a BC AWARE DAY Conference on January 30, a half-day session on Privacy & Security in Healthcare on February 5, and finally a three-day privacy and security conference in Victoria February 7-9. Information about these events can be found on the BC AWARE Campaign website.
