Recap: UVI Chapter Hosts Three MET Events

Attendees at Campbell River MET networking over lunch

The CPABC Upper Vancouver Island Chapter hosted three Member Engagement Tour events which cumulatively attracted over 110 members, CPA students and candidates.

On October 18, a MET dinner was held in Duncan at the Ramada Hotel.  The following day on October 19, the MET travelled up island with a breakfast in Nanaimo at Vancouver Island University and a luncheon in Campbell River at the Campbell River Golf & Country Club.

Chapter chair Janice McAllan CPA CGA emceed the METs. Presenters included CPABC Board Chair Heather Banham FCPA FCGA, CEO Lori Mathison FCPA FCGA and executive vice-president Jan Sampson FCPA FCA.    Two provincial board members were also in attendance:  Barry Macdonald FCPA FCA (vice-chair) and Chris Burnley FCPA FCA (Nanaimo MET only).

These METs were an opportunity for local members, CPA students and candidates to connect with the leadership of CPABC and to receive an update on the profession including discussion of key issues impacting professional accountants.

The Upper Vancouver Island Chapter will be hosting upcoming social networking, PD and community events and all members, students and candidates are invited to participate in these events.  And, if you want to volunteer to serve on the chapter board or help with planning chapter activities, please contact the chapter chair with your interest.
