Chapter PD: PST & GST Update – Courtenay & Nanaimo

This session will provide an update of GST & PST issues and changes over the past year. This seminar is relevant to CPAs who want to keep current on GST & PST issues. Participants will refresh and review as a group the changes in the past year in the legislation, administration and audit processes related to both taxes.

Topics covered will include:

  • Changes in legislation in the past years
  • Court decisions
  • Administrative Policy/memos etc.
  • Audit Issues

Prerequisite: Must have some understanding of GST & PST to be able to understand the implications of the legislation and administrative changes and audit issues discussed.

CHARLOTTE HOGGARD, CPA, CGA, CFI, is President of T. Charlotte Hoggard Inc Vancouver Island, and has been dealing with sales tax issues, including GST, since 1990. Her involvement started with CRA and in 1999 she left to continue helping clients with the sales tax in public practice. She assists clients with the various implications of sales tax, including GST, HST and PST, both on an advisory and practical basis, such as representing them to CRA. Charlotte has been a member of the board of various non-profit and charitable organizations.
