This seminar introduces participants to the function of a board and responsibilities of directors. Participants are introduced to tools for stakeholder analysis, strategic planning, risk management, and performance monitoring in the context of board membership. The seminar also addresses functional skills, board evaluation and considerations for board membership in relation to types of boards and the influences of culture, size, and form of organization. This session will benefit those members who are currently serving on a board or who are interested in serving on a board.

Marc Kampschuur is a CPA, Lawyer, Certified Fraud Examiner and Chartered Director. He is faculty in Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s School of Business and a member of the Board of Governors. Formerly Marc worked as an external, internal, and forensic auditor in public practice and in-house council in industry. Marc facilitates for CPABC, CPAWSB, and formerly for the three legacy organizations in their accreditation and continuing professional education programs.
