The evening was emceed by Kathy Rogers, chapter chair, and Carl Markwart, chapter vice-chair.

They welcomed attendees and recognized special guests from CPABC –  Stanley Chang (CPABC board member and provincial treasurer), Matt Murray (CPABC board member and board liaison to the chapter) and David Chiang (CPABC’s vice-president member advice and programs).

Stanley was presented a carefully selected gift to thank him for his many years of service as a chapter volunteer, chapter chair, and provincial board member.  He will be standing down from the provincial board at the end of June.

After dinner, keynote speaker Sam Thiara addressed the audience.  Sam shared his many stories and experiences in an inspiring speech. Not even the NBA final game, which saw the Raptors win the championship, could distract the audience from Sam’s mesmerizing presentation.  😉

The chapter hosts many events throughout the year.  Watch for event notices in the regular chapter emails or on the chapter website.  And, if you want to volunteer with the chapter, contact the chair to express your interest.
