To minimize the spread of COVID-19 and in support of the B.C. Medical Health Officer’s recommendation for social distancing, this chapter PD session is cancelled.  The Chapter will email all registrants in regards to your registration fee.


Reward and Risk: Behind the Financial Headlines

While the financial headlines are exciting, there are important real‐world issues and lessons behind the big headlines. We will examine a few recent and interesting news items from the global financial world and examine their meaning and potential implications. Past stories have come from the world of corporate finance, global markets, and central banks. Intended for those with an interest in global financial events – no risk or statistics required!

About the presenter:
Karen Horcher FCPA, FCGA, CFA
Karen provides consulting and training for global corporations, financial institutions, regulators, and governments. Her background includes trading, capital markets, and risk management. She teaches in the treasury program at the University of North Carolina and is the author of several books published internationally, including Essentials of Managing Treasury and Essentials of Financial Risk Management, published by Wiley. Karen is a director of CPABC’s Provincial Board.
