New Student Scholarship Created at Kwantlen Polytechnic University

CPABC Richmond/South Delta Chapter has created a new $1,000 scholarship at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.   This award is funded through to 2019/20 and a request for matching by the CPA Education Foundation is pending.

The award recognizes a 3rd or 4th level accounting student who has demonstrated academic excellence and who has the intent to become a Chartered Professional Accountant.   Preference is given to a student who demonstrates volunteerism or leadership in the community.

Four chapters have donated a total of $10,300 to fund awards at the following post secondary institutions across BC:

  • CPABC Kamloops / Cariboo Chapter donated $1,000 to fund an existing scholarship at Thompson Rivers University through to 2019/20;
  • CPABC Okanagan Chapter donated $6,300 to fund existing awards at two local post secondary institutions.   There are two $1,500 awards at Okanagan College and two $2,000 awards at UBC|Okanagan for 2018/19;
  • CPABC Prince George Chapter donated $2,000 to fund a new $1,000 scholarship at the University of Northern British Columbia through to 2019/20. This award has been approved by the UNBC Senate; and
  • CPABC Richmond/S.Delta Chapter donated $2,000 to fund a new $1,000 scholarship at Kwantlen Polytechnic University through to 2019/20.

All of these awards are adjudicated by the faculty of the respective schools.
