The 2017 Member Engagement Tour, now in its fourth week, headed to northern BC with two luncheons – the first in Dawson Creek on October 24 and the second in Prince George on October 25.

Both sessions included presentations by provincial board chair Heather Banham FCPA FCGA, CPABC CEO Lori Mathison FCPA FCGA, and EVP Jan Sampson FCPA FCA.

Over 40 members, CPA students and candidates attended the Dawson Creek MET held at the Fixx Urban Grill.  The event was hosted by the CPABC Peace Chapter and was organized by Don McMillan CPA CMA, Peace Region Chapter Chair.  Two provincial board members residing in the Peace Region Chapter were also in attendance: Gavin Still CPA CGA (board liaison) and Ben Sander FCPA FCA (second vice-chair).

The MET then headed to Prince George where the Chapter hosted a record 100 attendees at a luncheon which was held at the Sandman Signature Hotel.  This event was organized by volunteers from the Chapter including Aaron Pitkethly CPA, chapter chair.

Thank you to volunteers from both chapters for arranging these well organized sessions.  The MET has now completed 12 stops and is now past the halfway mark.

Both the Peace and Prince George Chapters have upcoming local PD, social networking, student and community events. Be sure to check the chapter website and emails to find out about upcoming events. And, if you wish to volunteer with the chapter to meet fellow members, CPA students and candidates, contact the Chapter chairs to express your interest.   The chapters welcome your involvement.

The MET will be in the Vancouver lower mainland week of November 6 with five presentations scheduled for Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, North Shore, and Tri-Cities chapters.
