On October 23, 2019, the CPABC Member Engagement Tour (MET) made a stop in the “northern capital” of Prince George, BC.

The local chapter hosted 60 members at the Prince George Civic Centre where attendees heard about the latest labour market research for accountants, connected with the other CPA’s and celebrated member milestones.

The MET presentation was delivered by Jamie Midgley FCPA, FCA, Executive Vice President, Regulation and Registrar, and Al LeFebvre FCPA, FCA, CPABC Board Member and the board liaison to the CPABC Prince George Chapter.

The presenters provided an update on the CPABC and BC government study examining the labour market, changing market expectations and the skills needed to succeed now and into the future.  They also discussed the impact of technology on the accounting profession and the progress being made by CPA Canada on the Foresight project.

In addition to the presentation, another highlight of the evening was the recognition of members who were celebrated for attaining important member milestones:  Ulrich Schmidt CPA CGA with 25 years, and Kari Buckley CPA CGA, Kristin Giannotti CPA CGA and Christine Lobermayer, all of whom were celebrated for 10 years of membership.

Congratulations to these members on their milestone years!
