Kicking off the 2019 Member Engagement Tour on October 3, 2019, CPAs gathered in Dawson Creek for the Peace Region Chapter event to learn the latest labour market research for CPAs, connect with their CPA network, and celebrate member milestones. An event highlight for the Chapter, the tour stop took place over lunch at FIXX Urban Grill.

Approximately 40 CPAs were in attendance, including Peace Region Chapter Chair Alan Bone, CPA, CA, and Vice-Chair Amy Irvine, CPA, CA, who is in her first year of service with her Chapter Board.
After networking and lunch, two members of CPABC’s leadership team gave the afternoon’s presentation. President and CEO Lori Mathison, FCPA, FCGA, and Board Chair Ben Sander, FCPA, FCA, provided an update on the CPABC and BC government study examining the impact of technology on the accounting profession, as well as changing market expectations and the skills needed to succeed now and in the future.

Member milestone celebrations rounded out the event. Each Member Engagement Tour stop acknowledges local-area members who are celebrating 10-, 25-, 50-, and 60-year membership milestones, and two members were celebrated in Dawson Creek: 10-year member Jared Toth, CPA, CMA, and Bob Trobak, CPA, CA, who marked 55 years of membership.
