On October 3, 2017, the 2017 Member Engagement Tour (MET) kicked off in the Pacific Northwest with its first stop in Prince Rupert followed by Terrace.
The Prince Rupert MET luncheon was held at the North Coast Meeting and Convention Centre and was emceed by Chapter Vice-Chair Crystal Sawatzy CPA CGA. The Terrace MET dinner was held at the Best Western Terrace Inn with Khalie Genereaux CPA CMA, chapter chair, hosting members and guests.
Approximately 40 members, CPA students and candidates, attended these two MET locations to listen to CPABC’s new CEO Lori Mathison FCPA FCGA and Heather Banham FCPA FCGA, provincial Board Chair, provide an update about CPABC and the profession. Jan Sampson FCPA FCA, executive vice-president for Education and Engagement, was also in attendance providing staff support.
The MET continues throughout October and November with 22 tour locations planned. The next stop will be the Fraser Valley, West and East Kootenays during the week of October 10th. You can follow the MET on twitter using #cpabcMET.
