Recap: 2019 MET North Vancouver

On November 8, 2019, the CPABC Member Engagement Tour (MET) made a breakfast  stop in beautiful North Vancouver.

The local chapter hosted 55 members at the Pinnacle Hotel At the Pier where attendees heard about the latest labour market research for accountants, connected with the other CPA’s and celebrated member milestones.

The MET presentation was delivered by Jamie Midgley, FCPA, FCA, Executive Vice President, Regulation & Registrar.

The speaker provided an update on the CPABC and BC government study examining the labour market, changing market expectations and the skills needed to succeed now and into the future.  They also discussed the impact of technology on the accounting profession and the progress being made by CPA Canada on the Foresight project.

In addition to the presentation, another highlight of the event was the recognition of members who were celebrated for attaining important member milestones:

  • Bill Winnett CPA, CA (60 years);
  • David Crawley CPA, CA,  Ron Hepting CPA, CGA, John Heskin CPA, CA (25 years); and
  • Paul Hargreaves CPA, CMA, Juanita Lohmeyer CPA, CMA, Sally Ong CPA, CGA, and Ramin Sabouhi CPA, CMA, all of whom were celebrated for 10 years of membership.

Congratulations to these members on their milestone years!
