Financial Executives International (FEI) Canada and the FEI Vancouver Chapter, in collaboration with CPABC and the CPABC North Shore/Sunshine Coast Chapter, are pleased to announce the launch of the FEI Luminaries Program, developed to help young financial executives accelerate their careers and give established senior financial executives the opportunity to give back and learn from the next generation.
FEI Young Luminaries Program:
The FEI Young Luminaries Program is a Mentor/Protégé program which consists of one-on-one opportunities, panel discussions and in-person group sessions. The program is run by FEI and officially begins in the fall 2019 and formally ends with a complimentary registration at FEI Canada’s annual conference which will include the FEI Young Luminaries Celebration for the protégé. This year’s conference will take place in Banff, Alberta and will run June 3-5, 2020.
The benefits of being a protégé in the FEI Canada Mentor/Protégé Program include:
A strong mentor will celebrate successes while helping their protégé understand when things did not go as planned. A mentor plays ‘devil’s advocate’ and ‘truthsayer’. A strong mentor also provides the tough feedback that their protégé need to hear so as to move forward, and pushes them to take risks when appropriate while teaching them to consider and weigh potential consequences of decisions. A mentor is an advisor and coach who provides advice, guidance and shares their experience and expertise while acting as a sounding board for ideas and building action plans.
Moreover, a strong mentor will encourage their protégé to stretch themselves, allowing them to grow both personally and professionally. Benefits received by the protege include:
- Ability to earn over 20 CPD credits, including free access to the new Lumi.Q. (fei.Q) app!
- Gaining valuable business advice from Canadian senior financial executives
- Learning from the experiences of seasoned professionals
- Enhancing your business network
- Gaining confidence from having someone in your corner
