On September 14-15, 2019, 80 riders will be participating in a 2-day major cycling event called The Lake2Lake for Rwanda Ride.
The Ride aims to raise $85,000 to benefit the Wellspring Foundation for Education in Rwanda.
Proceeds will be used to support quality education teaching to young children in one of the world’s poorest nations that has been afflicted by civil war, malnutrition and disease.
The route is 200 km and passes through the Okanagan and Shuswap regions. It starts in Vernon then thru Armstrong, Salmon Arm, and Sorrento before ending in Eagle Bay.
CPABC member Stanley Chang, CPA CGA, former provincial treasurer, is one of the riders participating this year. Stanley is passionate about lifelong learning and literacy. He also serves on the Surrey Library Board.
Other CPAs in the ride include Tom Senft CPA CGA and Edgar Luck CPA CMA.
If you want to support the riders, then consider cheering them on as they pass through your community. Or you can support CPAs on the ride by visiting their donation page (links mentioned above) and reading their personal story.
Good luck to all the riders.
And thank you for supporting education in Rwanda.
