CPABC and the CPABC Burnaby / New Westminster Chapter co-hosted a Multiculturalism Day event on June 27, 2018 with the Association of Filipino Accountants (AFCA), the ICAI of B.C. Chapter, and Canadian CPAs.
The evening brought together accountants from these three host organizations to celebrate Canada’s cultural diversity and the inclusiveness of the accounting profession.
Over 100 members and their guests attended the event which was held in the Tiffany Ballroom at the Metrotown Hilton Hotel in Burnaby.
David Chiang CPA CA emceed the evening. Opening remarks were delivered by Han Shu CPA CA, CPABC Burnaby / New Westminster Chapter Chair; Rita dela Cruz CPA CGA, vice-president of AFCA; and Deepak Arora CPA CGA, chair of the ICAI of B.C. Chapter. And, Nicola McLaren CPA CA, CPABC’s director of PD, provided greetings on behalf of CPABC.
Eden Cheung provided the entertainment with his hilarious comedy routine filled with amazing magic. His act had the audience thoroughly enthralled. Eden’s finale, which involved members supporting one another, aligned with the evening’s inclusivity theme.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet which included food from various ethnicities including Irish lamb stew, Indian samosas, Filipino chicken bogado, American sliders and much more.
The three host organizations look forward to continuing to work together and future events are likely. Some upcoming CPABC events include:
