Session 1: Writing – Mind Mapping and Self Editing.
Many people believe that writing involves one step: moving your fingers across a keyboard — probably slowly and painfully. Professional writer Daphne Gray-Grant understands that the reality is quite different. Instead of focusing on the act of writing, she believes it’s better to concentrate on two quite different steps: preparing to write and editing. Her presentation today, Mindmapping and Self-Editing, addresses the simple actions you can take to dramatically improve the quality of your work. Oh, and it will make writing a whole lot more enjoyable, too.

Session 2: Stocks – Value Investing
With plenty of investing options in the financial market, value investing has become a popular strategy. The prime focus is to pick stocks that appear to be underpriced. About the Speakers

Daphne Gray-Grant grew up in the newspaper business: her parents owned a struggling weekly where she worked from the age of 16, even while completing an honours degree in political science at the University of B.C. Eventually, she left the family business to become a senior editor at the then-large daily newspaper The Vancouver Sun where she worked for 10 years.

After the birth of her triplet children in 1994, she became a communications consultant, and writing and editing coach. She has been blogging since 2006 and hosting a YouTube channel since 2017. She is author of the bestseller 8 1/2 Steps to Writing Faster, Better and has just released her latest book, Your Happy First Draft. Daphne strongly believes that main reason many people can’t write — and can’t write quickly — is because the school system hasn’t given them the simple tools to do it.

Edward Teodoro graduated from Pepperdine University in California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and finished diploma programs ranging from Investments to International Business from University of California (Los Angeles). He also holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and the Fellow of CSI (FCSI®) designations.

Edward’s investment discipline is founded on tactical portfolio management and value-based investing applied across all asset classes while employing a customized asset allocation approach and effective risk management measures. His business philosophy is anchored on exceptional and innovative wealth management, financial advisory and client service as supported by three primary personal beliefs: mutual respect, responsible stewardship and long-term partnership.
